Each week in 8 On Your Side’s Road Rants, Traffic Reporter Meredyth Censullo answers your questions about construction or Florida’s driving laws, or responds to commute complaints. In this week’s edition: solving the social impact rough roads have on cities.

Susan contacted Meredyth to ask,

Would you please look at Exit 32 on I-4? There are dangerous holes and cracks, and they give a bad impression of Lakeland!

Meredyth took Susan’s concerns to the Florida Department of Transportation. FDOT says the issue is already on its radar, and want Susan to know help is on the way.

A project is planned to resurface, or repave, I-4 between US-98 and SR-33, including Exits 32-38. FDOT is getting quotes from contractors for the project, but right now the repaving work isn’t expected until 2021.

However, FDOT adds that if there are any pavement problems causing an immediate danger to drivers or vehicles, they’ll take care of it sooner.
