CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Chesterfield County, Virginia are asking for help identifying a person who was photographed using a stolen cell phone.
Police said the phone was taken from a vehicle that was stolen from the Wawa convenience store located in the 7500 block of Midlothian Turnpike in the early-morning hours of October 24. The vehicle was later recovered in Richmond, but a cell phone that was in the car was not recovered.
Police said the victim checked his iCloud and found photos of an unknown person that were taken sometime after the theft occurred.
“And they are good pictures. Like, really good,” Chesterfield Police wrote on Facebook.
“If you recognize this gentleman, who may or may not know he’s being photographed with a stolen phone, contact Chesterfield County Police at 804-748-1251 or Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660 or through the P3 app.”
Police are also using this opportunity to remind residents that ‘this car was stolen in a matter of minutes – maybe seconds. Please. PLEASE. Remove your keys and valuables and lock your vehicles, even if you’re just walking away for a moment. Sometimes a moment is all it takes.’
