NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities say they have found the Uber driver who is being connected to what the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is calling a kidnapping.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said an Uber passenger called 911 just after 7 a.m. Wednesday to report “a physical altercation with a hidden passenger” stowed under a blanket in the back seat of the car they were riding in.

Deputies later reclassified the suspicious incident as a kidnapping and named the Uber driver a suspect.

Additional evidence is being reviewed and the investigation is ongoing. No arrest has been made at this time.
