TAMPA (WFLA) – A driver is lucky to have their car back after it was taken by force in broad daylight.
“We just saw that there were undercover cops in front of the house, across the street, in the middle of the street over there, and they were walking down the street,” say neighbor Elsa Carresco.
Hillsborough County deputies say a Ford F250 or F350 truck was following a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. At one point the truck driver and a passenger jumped out and attacked the driver of the Lancer. Then a 3rd person jumps out of the truck, into the car, and takes off.
“All we heard is that someone got beaten up,” says Carresco.
A backseat passenger, identified as Anthony Andrade, 24 exited the pickup truck, entered the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene with two unknown suspects.

Luckily deputies were able to locate the victim’s stolen car because the victim’s phone was still inside the vehicle.
Deputies were able to locate the victim’s stolen vehicle and Andrade who was still driving the stolen car was arrested. But the two attackers in the gray truck are still on the run.
“It’s pretty scary cause it’s pretty quiet around here so we just hope that they catch whoever they’re looking for, and hopefully it’s back safe again,” says Carresco.
Deputies say the man is believed to be Hispanic, in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches, and 180 pounds with long brown hair in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black shirt.
The female passenger is believed to be a white female in her late 20s to early 30s approximately 5 feet 3 inches, 130 pounds with blonde hair with other colors mixed in. She was last seen wearing a purple tank top and blue skinny jeans.
Andrade now faces charges of carjacking and resisting an officer without violence.
Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about this incident is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200
