The Florida Department of Transportation is warning drivers to be on the lookout for possible scammers trying to trick them into sending payments.

FDOT officials said there’s a fake company out there called Toll Enforcement, LLC.

The company is trying to pull a fast one on the many drivers who take tolls not just around Tampa Bay area but also the state, officials say.

The key to not getting scammed is knowing what to look for.

Officials say all collection notices will have key information about the driver and their car.

There’ll be a picture of the owner’s car and license plate on a real invoice. It comes with a whole lot of details, including the exact date, time and location of the toll violation.

The fake toll company does not accept credit card or personal check and that should be a major red flag, officials say.

There are a number of payment options when it comes to taking care of your real bill.

FDOT is warning everyone that if you get an invoice from Toll Enforcement, LLC to contact a Sunpass Operations Center.

State officials will send that evidence to law enforcement in hopes of putting a stop to this possible scam.
