Authorities are trying to figure out who opened fire on an SUV in Jacksonville, killing one person and injuring five others inside the vehicle.
A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said a Chevy Tahoe pulled up to Memorial Hospital around 2 a.m. with six gunshot victims inside.
A 25-year-old victim died after arriving at the hospital. One person was critically injured and four others suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives believe all of the victims were inside the Tahoe when the shooting happened.
The gunshot victims ranged in age with the youngest victim in their early 20s and the oldest victim in their 40s.
Investigators say the vehicle had multiple shots fired into it. Detectives believe the shooting happened at a location near the hospital. They are not sure what prompted the gunfire or who was responsible.
Detectives are interviewing the victims and are checking surveillance video in the area.
