PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz was allegedly assaulted while leaving the Brew Ha Ha town hall meeting on Saturday, June 1.
The video, taken by a Brew Ha Ha employee, appears to show someone throwing a drink at Gaetz’s back as he exited a building and walked through protestors.
Police say 25-year-old Amanda L. Kondrat’yev was quickly detained and arrested with no further incident. Police say she was protesting the town hall.
No other information has been shared on Kondrat’yev’s arrest and if she was the person who threw the drink at Gaetz.
Gaetz had scheduled the town hall meeting to discuss updates “on his in Washington D.C., as well as hold an open discussion with constituents on the most pressing issues of the day,” according to a press release from Gaetz’s office.
