The wait over for thrill seekers! Florida’s tallest launch coaster, Tigris, is officially taking off at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
WFLA News Channel 8’s Lila Gross got a sneak peek and took you LIVE on a ride of Tigris.
Tigris reaches speeds of more than 60 mph during its 1,800-foot journey. You’ll experience twists, drops, an inverted heartline roll and a 150-foot surge toward the sky.
The triple-launch steel coaster is tallest launch coaster in the state and is the ninth roller coaster at Busch Gardens.
The track is designed to “mimic the awe-inspiring agility of the world’s largest and most powerful cat – the tiger”, says Designer Project Manager Andrew Schaffer.
While waiting to ride Tigris, you can learn about tigers in the wild and what conservationists are doing to try and save them.
Five percent of the sales price of merchandise in the Tigris gift shop will be donated to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund to protect tigers and their habitat.
You can ride the Tigris roller coaster for yourself at Busch Gardens starting Friday, April 19.
