Staci DaSilva joined the 8 On Your Side news team in June 2019 as the Polk County bureau reporter.

She moved from one end of the country to the other. Staci came to southwest Florida from the Canadian border where she anchored and reported for WFFF/WVNY-TV, a fellow Nexstar station in Burlington, Vt.

In her nearly six years serving Vermont, New York and New Hampshire, Staci covered the legendary 2015 prison escape in Dannemora, NY (watch the Showtime series “Escape at Dannemora.” You won’t regret it!) and the presidential campaigns of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, among other notable stories.

In 2016, Staci was on Nexstar’s team of reporters that covered the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Penn.

Staci moved to Vermont from Sioux City, Iowa, where she worked for another Nexstar station, KCAU-TV, for three years. There, she covered the 2012 presidential caucus, the historic 2011 flood and several tornadoes.

Staci is delighted to be in Florida, soaking up the sun with new coworkers. She will be spending lots of time with friends around the Tampa Bay area, as well as with her parents and other family members who live in Citrus County.
