Hello, Tampa Bay!

I’m Jamel Lanee’ and I’m happy to be joining the News Channel 8 team.  I come from the east coast of the sunshine state, working in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach county for the last three years at WPTV News Channel 5.

I’ve also worked at WAFF in Huntsville, AL, and WCJB in Gainesville, FL.

I am a proud graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

Although I am a Florida girl, I was born in Philadelphia, PA and proudly route for my Eagles. #GoEagles! My grandmother would have it no other way. I’m also a huge Miami Heat fan

I’m looking forward to seeing what Tampa Bay has to offer as I cover the stories that matter most to you and this community.
