BAHÍA DE TAMPA (WFLA) – Noviembre es un gran mes para la política y la política de la bahía de Tampa, con más de 30 elecciones en cinco condados, incluidos referéndums, elecciones a la alcaldía y elecciones al concejo municipal.

Los votantes pueden esperar opinar sobre nuevas propuestas de impuestos y financiamiento para proyectos de desarrollo, además de alguna filosofía a nivel de ciudad sobre cómo gobernar en el futuro si se encuentra en Saint Petersburg. Saint Petersburg: múltiples carreras, múltiples políticas

La ciudad de Saint Petersburg tiene 14 puntos para votar en las próximas elecciones . La ciudad tendrá un nuevo alcalde, elegirá cinco concejales y aprobará o rechazará siete enmiendas a los estatutos de la ciudad.

8 On Your Side ha traído cobertura previa de la carrera por la alcaldía. Los concejales votarán por los distritos 1, 2, 4, 6 y 8 de Saint Petersburg.

Además de las elecciones del concejo y del alcalde y las votaciones de los estatutos, los votantes de St. Pete decidirán si aprueban o no una nueva excepción limitada a los impuestos a la propiedad, destinada a otorgar exenciones a las nuevas empresas y a las que se están expandiendo para crear nuevos trabajos de tiempo completo.

Las siete enmiendas a los estatutos de Saint Petersburg se centran en la votación en sí, los límites del distrito, la equidad, la administración, el proceso de revisión de los estatutos y la filosofía de gobierno de la ciudad.

Condado de Polk – Fort Meade, Lakeland, Winter Haven

En noviembre se celebrarán algunas carreras por el liderazgo de la ciudad en todo el condado de Polk. Lakeland elegirá un alcalde, mientras que otras ciudades votarán sobre quién se sienta en las comisiones de su ciudad.

Se les pedirá a los votantes que opinen sobre quién quieren que sirva en la Comisión de la Ciudad de Lakeland, mientras que Fort Meade ve un conjunto similar de carreras, junto con la carrera de comisión única de Winter Haven.

Los votantes decidirán quiénes son los comisionados para los distritos C y D de Lakeland, así como también votarán sobre dos enmiendas a los estatutos para las elecciones de comisionados y las alternativas de la junta de escrutinio.

La comisión de la ciudad de Fort Meade verá votos para el puesto 1 y el puesto 5 en general, mientras que Winter Haven solo está votando por el puesto 5 de la comisión de la ciudad.

Condado de Manatee – Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, Junta Escolar del Condado

En el condado de Manatee, Bradenton Beach elegirá a su alcalde, además de votar una enmienda a los estatutos sobre los términos electos.

Holmes Beach decidirá si aprueba o no un intercambio de tierras que dejaría una parte de la calle 34 y permitiría a la ciudad intercambiar una parcela de tierra separada para convertirla en un derecho de paso. Los espacios que se intercambian son cada uno de 2500 pies cuadrados.

Además, cinco candidatos que luchan por tres puestos en la comisión de la ciudad estarán a merced de los votantes de Holmes Beach.

En todo Manatee, los votantes elegirán votar sí o no por una extensión del impuesto ad valorem actual para la Junta Escolar del condado, extendiéndolo del 1 de julio de 2022 al 30 de junio de 2025.

Los votantes de Manatee también tendrán que decidir si abolir y disolver el Distrito de Control de Incendios de Trailer Estates, un departamento de bomberos en Bradenton que se estableció en 1963.

La disolución del departamento se produce cuando la junta de comisionados trabaja para fusionar el servicio con Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue. Los comisionados de TEFCD dicen que ya no pueden apoyar financieramente al departamento y que Cedar Hammock ya ha estado respondiendo a las llamadas médicas.

Condado de Highlands – Concejo Municipal de Avon Park City Council

Los votantes de Avon Park elegirán quién se sienta en tres asientos del consejo. La ciudad del condado de Highlands tiene tres puestos en el concejo municipal abiertos para elección y cuatro candidatos. Los votantes decidirán los tres concejales.

Condado de Sarasota – Concejo Municipal de Venecia

Los residentes de Venecia votarán por dos escaños del consejo de la ciudad, para los escaños 3 y 4.

Condados de Manatee y Sarasota – Longboat Key

Los votantes de Longboat Key en los condados de Manatee y Sarasota elegirán sí o no para permitir un referéndum para la densidad de viviendas. Específicamente, una propiedad en Buttonwood Drive estaría sujeta a votación.

Si los residentes aprueban el referéndum , la propiedad se cambiará a uso residencial de uso institucional para oficinas, y se pueden construir dos unidades residenciales en la propiedad, según funcionarios de la ciudad.
