A hotel in the Dominican Republic is removing all liquor dispensers in its guestroom minibars after a series of deaths and illnesses of American tourists on the island.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana is removing all dispensers and will also be hiring a U.S. healthcare company to “ensure the on-site health clinic is complying with all international and US standards,” according to the New York Post.
A U.S. lab will also be testing all food and drinks.
This comes after reports of two tourists dying at the Hard Rock in the last year.
There have been a total of at least 9 deaths of American tourists in the Dominican Republic.
Reports indicate tainted liquor may be the cause of some of these deaths.
